====== 采珠业_岛屿经济的见证 ======
本项遗产包括穆哈拉格市的 17 座建筑、三座海上珍珠繁殖场、部分海岸地带以及穆哈拉格岛南端的卡拉布马希尔要塞。 过去采珠人的船就是从卡拉布马希尔要塞出发前往珍珠繁殖场的。列入遗产的城市建筑包括富商的住所、商店、仓库和一座清真寺。作为采珠业文化传统的代表以及阿拉伯海湾一度最主要经济活动（从公元 2 世纪指导 1930 年代日本开发了珍珠养殖业）所创财富的象征，巴林采珠业遗产地是此类遗产中最后一个保护完整的遗址。这也是海洋资源的利用传统以及人类与环境互动的一个出色例证，并以此构成了这一岛屿社会的经济与文化特征。

The site consists of seventeen buildings in Muharraq City, three offshore oyster beds, part of the seashore and the Qal’at Bu Mahir fortress on the southern tip of Muharraq Island, from where boats used to set off for the oyster beds. The listed buildings include residences of wealthy merchants, shops, storehouses and a mosque. The site is the last remaining complete example of the cultural tradition of pearling and the wealth it generated at a time when the trade dominated the Gulf economy (2nd century to the 1930s, when Japan developed cultured pearls). It also constitutes an outstanding example of traditional utilization of the sea’s resources and human interaction with the environment, which shaped both the economy and the cultural identity of the island’s society.{{tag>文化遗产}}
